Tensions between the West and Russia have been growing in recent months.
The situation continues to heat up. Politicians and oligarchs are leaving the country, taking their capital with them. The US has not set the best example by moving its embassy from Kyiv to Lviv. Western insurance companies refuse to insure aircraft when making flights over the territory of Ukraine. A similar ban may be introduced in relation to ships.
Washington and Brussels declare that Moscow is preparing an invasion of Ukraine and is concentrating significant groups of troops to its borders. At the same time, major information publications such as Bloomberg, Politico, The Sun, CNN called several terms for the possible start of aggression. The last date was 16 February.
Recently, the Chinese portal CGTN for the first time announced that that the active dissemination of such information is beneficial primarily to the United States. The author of the article states that “the US is in desperate need of a war” and at the same time benefits most from escalating tensions in the region.
In the article, the Chinese journalist refers to the statement of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, made by him on January 28 at a press conference for foreign correspondents. The head of state accused journalists of creating unnecessary panic, recalling that troops and tanks do not march through the streets of Ukrainian cities.
The Chinese edition expresses confidence that the current situation contributes to the strengthening of Washington’s influence in Europe. In addition, it allows NATO allies to rally against the backdrop of a growing Russian threat.
The pro-presidential Servant of the People party joined the opinion of the Chinese publication and called the situation around the Russian invasion a US information special operation. This is stated in the Telegram channel of the party with reference to the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Yegor Chernov.
The head of the Servant of the People faction, David Arakhamia, said that large-scale discussions on the topic of the Russian invasion are damaging the Ukrainian economy. He estimated losses at $2-3 billion a month.
But no one is particularly interested in the problems of Ukraine. It seems that our country is once again being used in their game to achieve political goals.
