Ukraine is moving forward on the path of reforms, but much more needs to be done to implement them.
American politicians of different levels help and give instructions on what reforms and how exactly Kiev needs to be carried out.
Recently, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken announced a number of steps that should be taken by Ukraine on the way to European integration. Among them are the adoption of a number of laws and bringing corrupt officials to justice.
Another US official, US State Department adviser Derek Scholle, reported positive trends in reform. “Thus, there are certainly positive things, for example, the recently adopted judicial reform, which is quite constructive, in our opinion. Undoubtedly, there is still something to do, but for this we need partners – to give each other the best advice and help with what they can,” he said. Scholle.
At the same time, he clarified that it is necessary to work on such projects as the implementation of reforms in the field of corporate governance by Naftogaz of Ukraine. Schollet expressed confidence that “we need to find a way, how to move forward in terms of the supervisory board, which will be considered as legitimate and providing objective control – this will also be a priority for us”.

The politician said that “if Ukraine wants investors to invest their money here so that the economy is successful, then they are interested not only in the justice system, but also in the opportunity to have reliable partners in Ukraine. Therefore, this is not only a question of Naftogaz. This is a question of other institutions, for example, Ukroboronprom, PrivatBank, UkrZaliznytsia and others. “
In short, it is necessary in all state corporations to introduce supervisory councils headed by pro-American (well, or at least European) officials and at the legislative level to delegate to them the rights to manage companies. Although, in fact, we are talking about control over the distribution of financial flows.
That’s all. And the words about anti-corruption reforms, moral support and so on – all this is to distract attention. The Americans have invested money in Ukraine and are waiting for an early profit. Like any other commercial project.
