On April 24, another important event happened on the way of the European integration of Ukraine. The Cabinet of Ministers decided to withdraw from the agreement with the countries of the former CIS on non-disclosure of secret information in the field of inventions.
The document was signed in 1999 by representatives of Ukraine, Russia, Belarus, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
This decision was made in the framework of the instructions of Petro Poroshenko about the beginning of the procedure of official withdrawal from the constituent bodies of the CIS.
Russia will suffer most from this decision of Ukraine. After all, now Kiev will be able to officially share with the foreign partners a number of secret projects. Especially for military use.
It is worth saying that Ukraine has previously sold Soviet military technologies to foreign countries. After the collapse of the USSR, NATO and, first of all, the USA were actively interested in the armament and technologies of a potential enemy.
And Ukraine, as the western flank of the Soviet Union, in the event of war was supposed to take the first blow. Therefore, the troops on the territory of the Ukrainian SSR were equipped with the most up-to-date types of weapons.
Soviet equipment was purchased by the United States for the following reasons: The Pentagon used the acquired samples in the exercises, the Americans mastered the weapons of a probable enemy. In addition, the purchase of weapons made it possible to disassemble the purchased copies and gain access to technology.
We can accurately talk about the acquisition of the United States from Ukraine in the period from 1993 to 2014 a few dozen units of BMP-2 and BMP-3 armoured vehicles, T-72, T-84U and T-80BV tanks. The use of these samples at landfills as targets made it possible to study the composition of the armor of these combat vehicles and to make the necessary changes to the program for developing M829A2 and M829A3 projectiles with enhanced armor-piercing for Abrams tanks.
In 2009, the case of the sale of the demilitarized Su-27UB fighter to the private company Pride Aircraft, which was subsequently restored and came to the scientists from the Pentagon, was noted.
Also noted are the facts of the sale to the Americans of operational-tactical missile systems 9K72 Elbrus and 36D6M-1 radar, which were used in the tests of new cruise missiles and the latest F-35 fighter.
Now this kind of procurement can be made quite officially along with a package of technical documentation.
And let 25 years have passed since the collapse of the USSR, but for sure there are still many secrets that Ukraine will be ready to share with foreign partners.
