Since 2014, the United States and several European countries have been taking active steps to establish closer control over Ukraine and its assets.

To achieve this goal, Western-controlled people are being introduced into the leadership of state-owned enterprises. So, in March 2014 at the direction of Washington, Andrey Kobolev was appointed to the post of head of the largest state-owned enterprise Naftogaz.

The end of 2014 was marked by the appointment of the first three foreign citizens to ministerial positions. Natalia Yaresko (USA), took the post of Minister of Finance, Aivaras Abromavichus (Lithuania) became Minister of Economic Development, and Alexander Kvitashvili (Georgia) Minister of Health. In 2015, a number of representatives of Georgia took the positions of deputy ministers and the prosecutor general.

In 2015, at the direction of the United States, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecution Office were formed. According to the names of departments, their mission is to fight corruption. However, in fact, these structures were created for external control of Ukrainian officials. Heads of departments were appointed at the direction of the United States and were noted for participating in numerous corruption scandals with extremely low results in the core part.

In 2016, a number of government posts were taken by representatives of Poland. So, Wojciech Balchun headed Ukrzaliznitsy, and Slavomir Novak – Ukravtodor. The same year, American Igor Smelyansky was appointed Ukrpochta general director, and Uliana Suprun (also American) was appointed Minister of Health. They were the first, who occupied not official bureaucrats anymore, but state corporations.

The results of the activities of foreign agents of influence can be discussed for a long time. It is worth giving an example of the effectiveness of Natalia Yaresko as Minister of Finance. Thanks to her skillful management, in 2015 the state debt of Ukraine was restructured so that the country fell into long-term financial dependence on international financial institutions.

An important moment was the introduction in 2016 amendments to the law “On the management of state property.” This document and a number of secondary laws have strengthened the role of supervisory boards in state enterprises, while reducing the role of the government and ministries. Now, to exercise control over financial flows, it is not necessary to appoint your company leader, but rather the introduction of controlled officials on the supervisory board.

Now about the last appointments of the past year. Two journalists who do not have specialized work experience have been appointed to senior positions in state enterprises. So, Mustafa Nayyem became the deputy general director of the state concern Ukroboronprom, and Sergey Leshchenko became a member of the supervisory board of Ukrzaliznitsy.

Previously, both were correspondents of Ukrainian Truth and represented the interests of non-profit organizations of the American billionaire George Soros. At the end of 2013 – beginning of 2014, both participated in the coverage of events on the Maidan. Then they were deputies of the “Petro Poroshenko Bloc” political party.

And the list of such examples can be very long. Ukraine is increasingly falling under external control. And this implies not only the streamlining of foreign and domestic policies as directed from abroad and the appointment of foreign citizens to ministerial posts. This also implies making unprofitable public procurement to the detriment of the national economy and transferring the management of state assets to foreign agents of influence.
